Study abroad counselling that starts with you, not a brochure

Choosing a course and a country is a big decision, and it shouldn’t start with a brochure. Our study abroad counselling starts with you — where you are now and where you want to end up — and the first session is free.

How our study abroad counselling works

We begin with a proper conversation about your academics, strengths, budget and the life you want after you graduate. From there we map out realistic course-and-country options and talk through the trade-offs of each. Nothing is pushed on you; you leave with a plan you understand and agree with.

A plan built around you, not what’s easiest

A lot of advice steers students towards whichever course or country is quickest to place them. We work the other way round and build the plan around your goals and your budget, even when that means a longer conversation. If a destination isn’t right for you, we’ll tell you.

What your counselling session includes

In a session we look at your academic record, shortlist courses and countries that fit, and outline the steps ahead — from entrance tests to intakes and rough timelines. We’ll also flag anything that needs early attention, like an English test or funding, so nothing catches you out later.

Why students choose English Channel for counselling

We sit down with students in Calicut, Kochi and Dubai, in person or online, whichever is easier for you. Your first consultation is free, there’s no obligation to sign up for anything afterwards, and the same team stays with you from that first chat through to your application.

Frequently asked questions

Is the first counselling session really free?
Yes. Your first consultation is free and there’s no obligation to continue. It’s a chance for both of us to understand your goals before you decide anything.
Do I need to know which country I want before I come in?
No. Plenty of students come in unsure, and that’s exactly what the session is for. We talk through the options based on your academics, budget and plans.
Can you help if my marks aren’t very high?
Yes. Counselling is about finding the right fit for your profile, not only the top-ranked options. We’ll be honest about where you stand and what’s realistic.
Can I meet a counsellor in person?
You can visit us in Calicut, Kochi or Dubai, or speak with us online if that’s easier. Either way you get the same guidance.
